A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting little miss Emery’s newborn portraits in Rogers, AR. Her parents contacted me the day before to tell me she had arrived (we had of course chatted before that) - and since I was going to be in Northwest AR shooting an engagement session later the next day, they were cool with me coming up earlier in the day to see their new little lady. After a quick blanket change and an extra bump up on the thermostat, she was good to go. She even gave a good number of smiles, and with both Mom & Dad to boot!
I hope you enjoy them…

p.s.
perhaps you noticed the watermark is a bit different? well if you followed what’s happened with the weddings, you’ll probably guess what’s going to happen with the babies…
I know the blog’s been a bit quiet recently, thanks mostly to that lovely Arkansas heat and humidity (aka “the air you can wear”). More on what’s been going on recently coming soon. Now on to some pics–
Little Laney should be here in less than a month. I know Mom & Dad are excited, but I don’t think big sis Avery has any idea of what’s about to happen…
Little Avery’s always been a bit shy, but who wouldn’t smile when dad’s going crazy over there?

shy, but very cute

I think she was like, “are you guys gonna be done anytime soon?”

again, I think Dad was being a bit crazy off camera

apparently Avery is a bit more modest than mom…

maybe not

And now for part II of Robyn’s Senior Portrait Session. When I asked her if she wanted to be a guinea pig for some new stuff I had been wanting to try, I had lighting in mind. Lots of lighting. Maybe you remember this session, it helped me see where I wanted to go with Robyn’s senior portraits. And I knew I wanted to go one step further and get a little more landscape involved in Robyn’s portraits, so we headed east of town to get some portraits with a little ‘post-apocalyptic’ feel to them. Natives of Fort Smith and surrounding areas probably know where I’m talking about, but since we were asked nicely to vacate the premises (signs were posted everywhere BUT where we went, I don’t trespass intentionally), I’ll leave the location a mystery by not saying where or showing off some of the more ‘really-tell-tale’ images. Anywho, on to part II…

p.s.
An interesting, if hard to believe, fact about the last two images: they’re in chronological order. The first one where Robyn is sitting in the middle of the road was shot at 7:19pm, whereas the last one with the sun behind her was shot at 7:31pm. Pretty crazy what you can do with some serious lights, huh?
