Just wanted to put a few of these  from yesterday up on the blog before I head out the door towards Northwest Arkansas to do a Fayetteville baby photography session. This momma is being deployed on Monday and wanted to get some family pics before she left. Please keep her and all the other service men and women in your prayers.

in the military or a veteran? First, thank you. Second, ask for your military discount when you book your session.

This sweet little lady’s mom called us wanting to get her in for her newborn photos as soon as possible, since she was about to hit the ripe old age of 2 weeks. We like to photograph babies before 10 days if possible; after that they often don’t stay all curled up and tend to stay awake for longer periods of time. Oh yeah, then there’s the baby acne that often shows up around then as well. Luckily, this adorable little doll went to sleep and stayed that way for most of her session. She got pretty upset with me a few times for moving her, but it was nothing a little paci-time couldn’t handle. And such a little lady, she was the first newborn in a while that didn’t require even a single load of laundry (well, a burp cloth got it, but that’s nothin!).
Anyway, O. Family it was great meeting you and congrats on your little one
Now, on to the images…

PS…
Are you a fan on Facebook yet?

So now we present part 2 of Robby and Jackie’s freezing cold engagement session. (Part 1 is here)
After freezing their …ahem, we drove across Ft Smith for some more outdoorsy photos. Probably not your typical engagement photos, but I wanted to try something different. Maybe edgy, maybe modern, maybe just strange, but something out of the ordinary.  Especially the contrast of the dilapidation and the dress clothes Jackie and Robby were sporting. It finally started getting dark (I’d been waiting not so patiently for dusk to finally come), so we broke out the big ol’ softbox and went to work. Aside from wanting to get some great images in the style I love to shoot, I also have been wanting to work with our flashes more outdoors. And since our new softbox showed up the day before the shoot, the timing for trying it out was perfect. But I digress, on to the images…

I’ll say it again, the first senior (or junior) to book their senior session with us that mentions this blog post will get a discount… not saying what, you’ll have to book to see what it is. Oh, and since I’ll be trying some new stuff, that means there will be more images to choose from and your session might go longer than normal (at no additional cost of course) - but hey, it’s another bonus, right?
And just for the sake of…well, just because, I’ll also extend that offer to couples. Mention this blog post and get a discount!

Session Books!!

Time for another product spotlight. Session books are a great way to get more of your images without having to wallpaper your house with prints (though if you want to do that, let us know :) )
They’re also cheaper than buying the same number of prints individually. And way more convenient than carrying around framed prints for showing off your portraits to friends and family!
Check out the prices on up at the top under INFO-> PRICING - FAMILY PORTRAITURE (email us for the password).

This cute little guy was our first Newborn Photo session of the year. I think it was a great way to start off too! He slept great… until he got hungry, then he was wide-eyed until he and his parents left (even after eating). It’s been a while since I’ve been able to do some natural light newborn photos, but man, now I remember why they beat flash any day of the week! Congratulations on your new little bundle of joy, he’s adorable.

Back in November I was privileged enough to be asked to photograph Major Jay Spohn’s last flight in the A-10 Thunderbolt (Warthog) here at the 188th. He was the only pilot chosen from the Air National Guard to fly the new F35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter. He will be one of the 12 pilots to fly in the program’s initial cadre. He will *only* get to fly F-15C Eagles’s until the F35’s are delivered later this year. There are more articles on the web here if you’d like to read further. If you check this article, there’s even a picture of me ‘in action’.

And a great big Thank You to Joel of Joel Culberson Photography for letting me rent his 5D Mk ii while mine was in the shop. I shot with our backup original 5D also, but man, if it would’ve been the only camera I had, I wouldn’t have gotten half the shots I did.

And an even bigger THANK YOU to all our service men and women who help keep our nation strong and safe. Thank you for what you do!!
