DISCLAIMER: We’re gonna have a little fun with this one. But, right off the bat, my apologies to Gnomes, The Beatles, people with inner-ear disorders, farmers everywhere, Grant Wood, and Stan Lee. Leave us a comment if you want to see more stuff like this. Or if you don’t. Either way, why don’t you leave us a comment?

Now, on to the show…
————————————————————————————————–

I’m a bit behind on editing, to say the least, but I wanted to Jon and Alexis a quick sneak-peek of their engagement sessions from a couple weeks ago.

First, meet Alexis…j-a_engagement-facesofalexis
Then, Jon…j-a_engagement-facesofjon

They’re pretty funny. And they can shrink on command…j-a_engagement_im-shrinking

…and multiply…j-a_engagement_0189-91-93-pano-web

But they don’t have very good balance…j-a_engagement-fallen

…which made them give up their dreams of becoming farmers (I hear balance is very important when working around heavy machinery)…j-a_engagement_0173bw

As I understand it, they were very sad to give up their pitchfork and farmhousej-a_engagement_0072

But while Alexis still mourns the loss of her fledgling agricultural career, Jon now believes he has been bitten by a radioactive arachnid which gave him super powers…j-a_engagement_spiderjon

Thanks!

So this post may have a few more pics than normal, but hey, it’s our kid. And, if you’re one of our past clients, imagine choosing just 10 from your gallery to showcase, then imagine doing it with 10x as many pictures to choose from!! It’s normal in one of our sessions with a one year old to need some warm up time to get used to that big ol’ black monstrosity of a camera I use… but since she’s had it in her face since day 1, she doesn’t even pay attention to it anymore. As a matter of fact, she actually ignores it - which makes it rather hard to get the headshots that I normally love getting of our clients’ little ones. Then there’s the issue of her mobility. She’s only just turned one, but she RUNS. I don’t mean a brisk jog, she runs… AWAY from the camera. That could be why this session took 2 days!

mommy took a pic of the kids with dad, since it was his birthday and all…

And here she is just a year ago…

Back in November I was privileged enough to be asked to photograph Major Jay Spohn’s last flight in the A-10 Thunderbolt (Warthog) here at the 188th. He was the only pilot chosen from the Air National Guard to fly the new F35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter. He will be one of the 12 pilots to fly in the program’s initial cadre. He will *only* get to fly F-15C Eagles’s until the F35’s are delivered later this year. There are more articles on the web here if you’d like to read further. If you check this article, there’s even a picture of me ‘in action’.

And a great big Thank You to Joel of Joel Culberson Photography for letting me rent his 5D Mk ii while mine was in the shop. I shot with our backup original 5D also, but man, if it would’ve been the only camera I had, I wouldn’t have gotten half the shots I did.

And an even bigger THANK YOU to all our service men and women who help keep our nation strong and safe. Thank you for what you do!!

We haven’t posted in a few days since we’ve been crazy busy trying to get all the galleries done in time for Christmas delivery. So here’s a just a couple pics of our two little ones…

gotta start ‘em early… No easy auto mode on that thing, it’s all manual.
(of course the picture before this one had him looking through the lens to take the picture. But hey, he’s only 2)

Hard to believe that just two years ago our lives changed completely…
We love you little man, Happy Birthday!

FSFD | Station 6

May 19, 2009

We went to visit K’s brother at Fort Smith Fire Station 6.  We took our little man to see the big firetruck, but since he had just gotten his hair cut, he was in no mood to be photographed. But being photographers, we took advantage of the scenery…
