I’m a bit behind on editing, to say the least, but I wanted to Jon and Alexis a quick sneak-peek of their engagement sessions from a couple weeks ago.

First, meet Alexis… j-a_engagement-facesofalexis

They’re pretty funny. And they can shrink on command… j-a_engagement_im-shrinking

…which made them give up their dreams of becoming farmers (I hear balance is very important when working around heavy machinery)… j-a_engagement_0173bw

As I understand it, they were very sad to give up their pitchfork and farmhouse… j-a_engagement_0072

But while Alexis still mourns the loss of her fledgling agricultural career, Jon now believes he has been bitten by a radioactive arachnid which gave him super powers… j-a_engagement_spiderjon

Fort Smith Arkansas Child Photographer | Our Princess Turns 1

So this post may have a few more pics than normal, but hey, it’s our kid. And, if you’re one of our past clients, imagine choosing just 10 from your gallery to showcase, then imagine doing it with 10x as many pictures to choose from!! It’s normal in one of our sessions with a one year old to need some warm up time to get used to that big ol’ black monstrosity of a camera I use… but since she’s had it in her face since day 1, she doesn’t even pay attention to it anymore. As a matter of fact, she actually ignores it - which makes it rather hard to get the headshots that I normally love getting of our clients’ little ones. Then there’s the issue of her mobility. She’s only just turned one, but she RUNS. I don’t mean a brisk jog, she runs… AWAY from the camera. That could be why this session took 2 days!

And here she is just a year ago…

Fort Smith & Sallisaw, OK Newborn Photographer | Kiefer @ 11 days

Here’s a few from my Sallisaw newborn photo session today (I guess technically yesterday since it’s 245 am). This little guy was one of a very limited number of newborns that actually slept through the *entire* session. He was asleep when I got there and asleep when I left. That’s not to say he didn’t fuss at me a few times for disturbing his sleep… Oh well, he got back at me, or should I say my blanket, in the end. Oh newborns, how cute - but very messy - you are.

Arkansas/Kentucky Baby Photographer | No Thanks…

I think that’s what little Aleah was trying to tell us when I showed up for her photo session today.
Her parents were in town a while back from Kentucky and had a maternity shoot (one of my favorites to this day - the colors and light were awesome).
Unfortunately, they weren’t able to make it back here while Aleah was still a newborn, but still wanted some photos when they did make it back to Fort Smith. I will say that at 8 weeks old, she definitely knows what she likes and doesn’t like. Apparently photography sessions fall in the latter category.
In between the occasional 5 minute cat-naps and the feeding and the fussing, I was actually able to capture this little cutie giving a big ol’ smile to both mom and dad.
